Where is marijuana legal?

Let's start with the most simple, but sometimes the hardest question when it comes to marijuana: Where is it legal? Twenty nine states have legalized medical marijuana, eight of those 29 have also legalized recreational marijuana, and 21 states have yet to legalize. Washington D.C. is an entity all it's own and has legalized medical and recreational marijuana.

Each state that legalized recreational marijuana already had medical marijuana laws in place. There are currently 8 states where recreational cannabis is legal. It is also legal in Washington D.C.

 

Recreational marijuana is legal in eight states and Washington D.C.

Washington D.C.

 

Medical marijuana is legal in 29 states and Washington D.C.
